What are they and what causes them?
Forehead lines are horizontal lines on your forehead that worsen when you raise your eyebrows. They are caused by repeated facial expressions and may be present when you raise your eyebrows or even at rest. They can make your appearance look older. As the skin ages, it becomes thinner and less elastic and forehead lines can start to etch into the skin. At this stage these lines can be treated with wrinkle smoothing injections before the lines become resistant to treatment.
How can we treat them?
Our practitioner at The Facial Rejuvenation Clinic can place injections into the forehead area and after several days the muscles that lift up the skin in this area lose their strength and the skin becomes smoother. Treatment can last up to three months depending on the strength of the injections.
Sometimes if the lines are heavily etched into the skin it may take up to a year of this treatment to fully remove these lines and at this stage if they can still be seen then superficial hyaluronic acid fillers can be injected to improve their appearance further.
Our practitioner will assess the area and start treating this area cautiously. If too much is injected then side effects can include a heavy dropped brow.
