Gummy Smile

There are many causes of a 'gummy smile'.

In many cases, it can be treated simply.  Come for a free consultation at The Facial Rejuvenation Clinic, Newtownards.  Our practitioner is a qualified dentist who will be able to assess whether your 'gummy smile' is treatable in a straight-forward way with Botulinum Toxin injections or if a referral is necessary for other more complicated methods of treatment.

Often, the cause is an overactive group of muscles that converge at the sides of the nose.

These three lip elevator muscles join  on the lateral side of the ala of the nose.

These are the levator labii superioris, the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscle, and the zygomaticus minor.

When an appropriate amount of Toxin is injected into the muscle at this area then the upper lip drops significantly enough to hide the gummy smile.

Before and after images are shown below of a very successful 'gummy smile' treatment.
